TREATMENTS

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the foundation of massage taught in the U.S. It consists of flowing strokes, kneading, compression and friction to create relaxation of your muscles, increased joint mobility, encourage local circulation and calm your mind.

Deep Tissue

Contrary to popular myth, deep tissue does not have to hurt to be effective.

By using slow, increasingly deeper pressure I target muscles, tendons or ligaments and encourage them to release or “melt’.

I use a variety of techniques to reduce pain, increase mobility, release trigger points, reduce scar tissue and other fascial adhesions (restrictions). I have been able to study with some fantastic specialists ( Robert Sirch, Robert Musser, James Waslaski)  and bring to the table a bit of each of them!

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle type of therapy used to increase the drainage of sluggish lymph fluid through your body and improve the overall functioning of the lymphatic system. Although most commonly associated with the treatment of Lymphedema, MLD is also used to treat many things such as sinus problems, aid in detox programs, fibromyalgia, headaches, and sprained ankle swelling.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is the adaptation of massage techniques to safely nurture anyone affected by cancer or its treatments at anytime in your life. Massage benefits can include:

  • Reduced pain and fatigue
  • Decreased anxiety
  • Less nausea
  • Improved sleep
  • Eased isolation
  • Enhanced body image
  • Greater sense of well-being

I have had many years of training in Oncology Massage and worked with over 1200 clients and patients. My goal is to create a session perfectly suited to your individual situation and needs. Whether you are recently diagnosed and awaiting surgery, going through treatment like chemo or

radiation or you are many years cancer free, I offer you the comfort of a safe and deeply relaxing session. You may need a very gentle massage, a touch of Reiki added in to calm and balance your system, a massage to focus on sore, stressed muscles, a session to relieve all over fatigue or management of Lymphedema …

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is a laying on hands on or above the body and is a simple, safe method effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Trigger Point

Also called neuromuscular therapy, is a wonderful technique to address constricted muscles that form a pattern of tenderness, pain and referred pain. By focusing pressure, breath and stretch to the muscle, a release of the restriction occurs.
